Call off the guns!

It was recently brought to my attention that the Bush Administration approved the managment killing of Gray Wolves in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. Now recently removed from the Federal Endandered Species Act these wolves are no longer protected and are vulnerable. Of an estimated 1,500 wolves it is intended to kill between 100-300. But Doug Honnold, a managing attorney for the nonprofit environmental law firm Earthjustice argues, "Wolf populations won't be fully recovered in Idaho and the northern Rockies until the animals number between 2,000 and 3,000." So by doing this what are doing? We are destroying wolf recovery and throwing away well spent time and money. In 1973 the wolf population was hunted to near extintion. Efforts came in 1995 to restore these populations. I fear one thing will lead to another until wolves are once again an endangered specie. Why work backwards? We were never meant to control the animal populations. Its not in our hands its in the hands of mothernature. So I ask you to be apart in protecting the wolves with me.
