DON'T PAVE THE FOREST PETITION

This petition addresses the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, the Leelanau Scenic Heritage Route Committee, and others who want to fund and create a paved trail through the forest paths in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore in the state of Michigan.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our leaders to act now to prevent the paving of the National Lakeshore and to call for an immediate halt to the Nonmotorized Trailway project funding, until, in keeping with its mission, the National Lakeshore relocates the route onto existing road rights-of-way and away from the natural forest paths.
