Stimulate the economy by forgiving Student Loan Debt. This petition is being created for those of us who had to pay our own way through school and were forced to take out student loans to better ourselves with a college education but now have to pay just as much in interest as we took out in loans. If Student loans are forgiven for those of us who have gradutated college but are still plagued with this debt would stimulate the economy by increasing cash flow to hundreds of thousands of individuals whose main goal was to get a college education. The Government can "bailout" insurance companies and car dealers why not take that money and put it towards the debt that young America had to bear because they could not afford to go to college without taking loans.
At the very least make the interest rate for student loans 0% and give us a fighting chance to alleviate the debt and not have to pay on our education for 30 years. The average college student with student loan debt is paying anywhere from $350 - $600 in student loan payments and this money could really stimulate spending in our fragile economy. $350- $600 per month is $4,200 - $7,200 per year that could be put used for mortgages, credit card debt, purchasing vechicles, investing or spending in the retail market which would stimulate our economy for the better!!
