Gun Registration for dangerous people

We need to protect the second amendment that any good citizen can own a gun and not have to register it. Freedom for good citizens to own firearms.

Not all people are good citizens. Felons already cannot own a firearm.

People may agree to registration of firearms belonging to perpetrators convicted of crimes that injure another person or involve an attack on another person or breaking into a home, business or vehicle to steal property; such as assault and robbery convictions that are reduced to misdemeanors. These two types of crimes where the perpetrator having a gun often leads to shootings and deaths. Good people would not commit assault nor robbery, the perpetrators have already demonstrated questionable moral and ethics, so having to register their guns is not an overt act of a conscientious society.

Highly unusual acts like the Columbine high school incident should NOT be used as a reason to restrict the freedom of tens of millions of good law abiding citizens. Unfortunately there will always be bizarre incidents and there will always be criminal acts. But those perpetrators are not being good citizens....so they are potentially dangerous and we may be able to deter a crime using a gun if they must declare their guns and register any firearms in their possession. They will know that gun and it's bullets are traceable to their ownership...So, they may be less likely to commit another crime with a gun, if they know it can lead to their identification.
