Dear Sir,
I'm writing you on behalf of Willie McNair, staying at Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore. I learned that M. McNair is due to be executed on May 14. He has been writing a friend of mine in France for nearly four years now.
Alabama, in its recent history, has been on the foreground of social progress. It is time that it moves on and reviews its stand on capital punishment. It belongs to another era and sadly other countries.
Therefore I am asking you to grant Willie McNair a stay of execution.
