I am petitioning to end the gun show loop hole. The gun show loop hole is a way for people to buy guns. What they do is, every so often, when a gun show is in town, they can go out and buy guns. The problem is, at these shows, no records are kept, no ID's are needed, and there are no background checks.
In one experement, a teenager went out and bought 13 guns in one hour without any questions. What this mean is ANYONE can buy a gun. In fact, this is how the VA Tech shooter got his gun.
The point is, this is a legal way for people to get guns, and possibly use them aginst others. I am not trying to revoke gun rights, but I DO want this loop hole to be closed. I belive that people can obtain guns only after background checks and the like.
We the undersigned are very distraught about the gun show loop hole. I am sure you are aware of this policy. It legalizes the purchaes of guns without any records or ID.
We do not support this loop hole and would therefore ask if it could be closed. This is a highly dangerous oppertunity for criminals to obtain a gun.
We do not wish to revoke the people's right to own a gun, but we belive the should only be permited to own one after a background check and the like.
