CBS!! STOP KILLING ANIMALS FOR ENTERTAINMENT

  • by: Lana Kirkby
  • recipient: Sumner M. Redstone, Executive Chairman, CBS Corporation

Once again the CBS game show Survivor has decided that it is entertainment to kill live animals. This is the second petition to try to end the callous disregard of helpless creatures. This is not only distasteful but very upsetting for many adults and children watching. Even one of the contestants objected and refused to participate. THIS IS A GAME, at no time is any human in danger of starvation. Other than trying to increase ratings, there is no rationale for showing the slaughter of animals.

Dear Mr Redstone,

I am writing to respectfully request that CBS stops the slaughter of animals on this show.  It airs in a primetime slot, and while the intended audience may be adult, many young children are also watching. This is a competition to win money, not a real life survival situation.  It is distasteful and upsetting and as a corporation that constantly uses the slogan "CBS Cares" it is time that you stop this exploitation.

Thank you to all who signed. Please continue to post and share this petition. This week's show didn't feature any "killing", but lets make sure that they don't wait until the "fuss dies down" and go back to their old ways.
