There are current beach residents who have lived here from 50 - 75 years. They have survived Hurricane Hazel and suffered no damage to their homes. Contrary to the Comprehensive Report - the homes do not have basements, therefore eliminating any possible interior damage. The public buildings are also on the same elevation and have not been denied. Over the last 13 years the City has issued building, renovation and septic permits - by default that has allowed and encouraged residents to invest in their homes. The residents want to stay and they want to have the dated aquisition policy removed so that they have equality and can take part in fair market value for their homes.
