STOP THE CLOSING OF ALL DEPT. OF PARKS AND RECREATION CHILDCARE CENTERS AND BEFORE AND AFTERCARE OUT

PLEASE HELP IN THE FIGHT TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN FROM GETTING BEHIND IN THEIR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION.  ITS A SHAME THAT DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA PARENTS WHO COUNT ON SUBSIDIZED PROGRAMS AND ASSISTANCE CAN NOT PUT OUR TRUST IN THE OFFICIALS OF THE CITY TO PUT OUR CHILDREN FIRST!  NOT ONLY THE CHILDREN DON'T DESERVE TO MAKE BOUNDS WITH THE GREAT TEACHERS OF OUR DEPARTMENT OF RECREATIONS DAYCARES/PROGRAMS AND HAVE THEM TORN APART BUT THE BOUNDS THAT OUR CHILDREN MAKE WITH THEIR CLASSMATES TOO.  PLEASE SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND SIGN THIS PETITION TO KEEP OUR DAYCARE OPEN.  WHAT'S NEXT, OUR DEPARTMENT OF RECREATION CENTERS BEING CLOSED!

We the undersigned, will like to ask all supporters of Early Childhood Education to take a stand in keeping Benning Park Recreation Center Daycare open.  Parents have been informed that due to the management of DC Department of Parks and Recreation, our childcare center will soon be closing.  We just moved from ECDC at the DC Parks and Recreation Therapeutic Center at 3030 G St. SE to Benning Park Recreation Center on 53rd and Fitch St. SE.  The parents were told that the changes made will allow DPR to continue to provide quality Early Care and Educations programs.  What happened?  Even though for some parents it was inconvenient to travel further away from the previous location, we still did because of the quality care that our children are getting from their teachers.  We were also told that DPR will work with all affected families to make the transition as smooth as possible and will provide assistance if needed.  Closing our Childcare Center is not going to be a smooth transition for the children nor parents because there is the stress of our children breaking bounds made and parents trying to find quality and affordable childcare.
