The End of the Iron Act

In the year of 1750, Parliament passed an act titled "The Iron Act." The Iron Act prohibits the production of iron, steel, and industrial items that are made with iron. All iron work for building ships, mills, and even houses have been forbidden to be made in the colonies. This will leave many colonial workers without jobs and without jobs, how will they care for their families? This Act has been brought upon us as a way to boost the economy of Great Britain, but in doing so, it will make the economy of the British Colonies go down. Selling ships, for example, is a key factor for many colonies. It brings in a vast amount of money and it helps the economy skyrocket. If Great Britain is the mother of the colonies, shouldn't it help its children instead of itself. The colonies need help growing, and this Act is not helping. We, the British Colonies, propose an idea that when selling ships, there will be a tax of 3%. If a colony chooses to sell a ship anywhere in the world, Great Britain will take 3% of the money made. This proposal would make the economies of both Great Britain and the British Colonies rise.
