Back in 2002 and 2003, Peta uncovered massive violations of animal rights and common sense at Iams. In Dayton, OH, iams still keeps an estimated 700 cats and dogs under unworthy conditions to test their products. Dogs are confined to steel cages and cement cells, where they have to sleep on filthy floors. Some of Iams' test animals are so fat and sick they can't even move any more. Although the company has made progress since then, Iams still needs to make a clearer statement against cruelty to animals. Care2 supports Iams by advertising them on the webpage we all love to visit. As people who care, we can not tolerate advertizing for dodgy companies that do just the opposite of what we want: a society that cares for and respects the rights and welfare of all living creatures.For more information see

Since this is not yet the case, we ask care2 officials to stop supporting Iams by advertizing them on their pages.
We consider ourselves to be care2 as well and clearly voice our opposition against Iams. Please remove all advertisements as a statement for the welfare of the animals abused by Iams.
