Stop the Monsanto Protection Act!
Genetically modified (GM) food giant Monsanto is sneaking a "Farmer Assurance Provision" into a House bill to be voted on this week. Labeled the "Monsanto Protection Act" by activists, this provision would give Monsanto immunity from USDA actions regarding the potential dangers of their GM creations while under review. The USDA would be powerless to act against any new GM crops suspected of harming human health and the environment.
It is dangerous to give a corporation -- let alone a biotechnology corporation -- such power over government agencies. Stand up for farmers, human health, and the environment and urge the House of Representatives to vote against the "Monsanto Protection Act"!
