SAVE THE FORUM

The Forum in Darlington is to close down due to Council cuts- this is terrible news for a town that will struggle to move forward without not only a superb venue but also practice rooms, facilities and simply just a great place to hang out without any hassle or worries. September 1 2010 is doomsday for the Forum in Darlington. If the Forum is to close where are not only the kids who enjoy New Blood nights go but everyone who likes a superb venue, great safe atmosphere and brilliant staff. Sign this petition and we will hand it to the Council in the hope that they see sense.
We the undersigned wish Darlington Borough Council to not only recognise the cultural significance of the Forum Music Centre but also the multi-generational community importance that it brings to our town. If we are indeed to move forward as a society it is important, in fact vital, that places such as the Forum are encouraged and nurtured by our Council, the very bureaucratic body that we pay our community taxes to and who in turn should consider and recognise their own responsibility to move towards the "big society". We wish Darlington Borough Council to reconsider their decision to cut funding of the Forum Music Centre and stop its imminent closure on 1 September 2010.
