Stop allowing Child Abusers to Plea Bargain!

As of right now, the law allows for a man who violently abused a two year old to plea bargain down to "Simple Assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction." The maximum sentence for this charge is one year in prison and/or a fine. The original charge was for "Domestic Violence Felony Assault" with a maximum of five years. The reasoning for dropping this charge to a lesser one was because the man had pending charges for a much more severe crime in a different state, Statutory Sodemny with a minor under the age of 14 (she was only seven years old). So to sum this up, because he was a child molestor they lowered his charges for abusing a toddler to a year at the most! Is that okay with you?
