it's pretty obvious that the Republican party couldn't give a damn about the Constitution. While their president tears it apart, piece by piece, they stand behind him, barking approval like trained seals. It's true from the top congressional Republicans, all the way down to the local dog catcher (which we sure hope isn't Kristi Noem).
This is why Blue states must defend the Constitution.
With Republicans eagerly embracing fascism, and holding (for now) the reins of power in Congress, Blue state officials must use whatever power they have to hold the line. Through lawsuits, criminal charges, the bully pulpit, or whatever legal and moral means they possess.
And Blue states must work together, and assume that most red states will likely keep embracing stupidity and fiction (remember, these were the folks who thought the way to battle Covid was by eating horse paste, and main-lining Windex).
