Dewey & Linda Hamaker DESERVE FREEDOM

Dewey and Linda Hamaker, a married couple, are both 50 years old and currently live in Union Grove, AL. They were high school sweethearts back in 1974 and now they have been married for 30 years. Wonderful years? Not always. But they have had many good memories....raising their kids, working hard for a living, you know, the normal daily lives of a lower/middle class family. They had three kids, two of them being twin boys just two years after the first. There first child was a little red headed girl... that would be me!
What is this about?
Dad worked hard all his life as a carpenter, building houses for a living. He started a contracting company in the early 90's and he worked hard building his business into a reliable small company in our community. Eventually, the stability was predictible enough that we were all blessed to be able to quit our jobs and join the family business.
From out of nowhere, after years of stability, my parents' business was raided and they were arrested. We did not even understand why for quite a while. Dad had an ongoing contract to build banks for Community Bank. Then he was hired by the president of that bank to build his big, fancy mansion based out of Blountsville, AL. The president of the bank has also been convicted of bank fraud and the government proved that he used bank money to build his mansion. Although my parents had no knowledge of this at all, they were convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud... because they built the house! My parents and their company were scape goats for a bunch of rich bankers. Now they have lost everything and they are facing 18 months in a federal prison. My parents do not deserve this. Please read the petition below and if you believe what it says, then sign it. The Bible tells of the parables of two farmers, one prayed for rain and prepared his field to receive it while the other prayed but did not prepare. I am praying for blessings to rain down on my family in this situation. This petition is my prepared field.

We believe that Dewey & Linda Hamaker are good, law-abiding citizens of the community, the state, and of the United States of America. We believe they are innocent of the crimes they have been charged with and convicted of. We believe that they were the scape goats for wealthy bankers and they do not deserve to spend one day in any correctional facility.
They have been through a great hardship for the last several years. They have lost their business, their life savings, their home and there name has been smeared throughout the media. And besides what they have lost through the injustice of the legal system: they have lost both his mother and his father and one of their sons during the same time frame. They are both dealing with health conditions, most likely brought about by stress, and with no health insurance. What they have not lost is faith in God, love for each other, and their dignity. Their favorite saying is, "It's 10% what happens to you, and its 90% how you handle it." These people deserve justice! Allow them to put this behind them and start their lives anew. Judge Karen O. Bowdre, has agreed that they were treated unfairly within the "justice" system, and she is the one who tried the case. Dewey & Linda Hamaker's trial was her first big case and we believe that she would have overridden the jury verdict had she been a little more experienced. She knew that the jury was confused about the instructions. It is out of her hands now, she has done all she could to help within the limits of the legal system.
Therefore, with all premises considered, we, as
law-abiding citizens of the United States of America
do, hereby, request a full pardon for
Dewey & Linda Hamaker of Union Grove, Alabama.
