Keep Women Safe from Domestic Violence!

Every nine seconds, a woman is beaten in the United States. That means in just one minute, up to seven women will have been beaten somewhere in America. This trend of unwavering violence is the reason why the U.S. needs to retain the Violence Against Women Act. (VAWA)

This act works to combat violent crimes against women by providing shelter, counseling, medical, and justice services. These crimes include rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence among many others. Without VAWA, women across the country will have nowhere to turn to when faced with an assault crisis.

Reauthorizing the VAWA act can only do good things for women across America who have the unfortunate fate of becoming a victim of violence. Urge your Congress member to re-authorize this act and help aid the countless numbers of women afflicted by violence in their lives.
Dear Member of Congress,

The Violence Against Women Act has made giant strides in protecting women who have become victims of violence in America. This act has given countless women a sense of safety and security by offering shelter, counseling, medical and justice services.

In light of the fact that the Violence Against Women Act is now up for reauthorization, it is imperative that this act is taken seriously and made a priority. This act provides essential services that should not be taken for granted.
