Fight Smoking in California: Support Prop 29!

Smoking is the top cause of premature death in the United States, and it costs Californians $9 billion every year.

Prop 29 would generate $735 million per year from cigarette sales -- revenue that would fund life-saving research programs for tobacco-related disease as well as prevention and cessation programs. It would save Californians $5.1 billion in long-term health costs.

What's more, Prop 29 would deter hundreds of thousands of people -- especially kids -- from smoking. Economists have shown that measures like Prop 29 are an effective tool for reducing smoking rates.

Yet Big Tobacco calls Prop 29 "wasteful spending."

On June 5, you'll have the chance to help California save lives and money. Pledge to support Prop 29 on the June ballot.
