This is regarding an incinerator ash dump proposed for Franklin Connecticut.
We are opposed to this ash dump as being unnecessary, environmentally unsound and using and outdated mindset. We need forward thinking in relation to handling the waste we create.
I believe that burning waste and burying the ash is not a viable option for the future of our towns, our state, our country or our world.
As our world is at such an environmental tipping point, I do not believe we can continue to burn and bury our waste. We must learn how to reduce waste, recycle and change the mindset of of consume and toss.
Our aquifers, our rivers, our sound and our oceans must be protected, what we do here and now determines how healthy they will be in 100 years.
I don%u2019t agree with the plan to site an ash dump in Franklin or anywhere other than the current site. We must be forward thinking and learn to reduce our waste, and find alternatives so that a site other than the current Putnam site, will not be necessary.
I say NO to the plan to bury INCINERATOR ASH in FRANLIN, CONNECTICUT.
