Dolphins and Headbangers Don't Mix!

Officials at Switzerland's Connyland Aquarium allowed a two-day headsplitting rave to occur right outside a dolphin tank despite warnings from animal activists that the marine mammals could not handle that much noise.

Lamentably, the activists were right. Eight year old Shadow, an aquarium dolphin, became agitated and died following the rave, and activists say the noise levels are directly to blame. Only days later, a second dolphin died in the same park with the same symptoms according to World Radio Switzerland.

One animal advocate told "London's Daily Mail" that the noise levels reached over 100 decibels. To a dolphin, that level of noise is comparable to the discomfort humans experience listening to a close range pneumatic drill at top volume, ProWal spokesperson Andreas Morlok added.

Tell Connyland that raves and wildlife don't mix! Demand that they set a better example of stewardship to marine parks worldwide or relinquish their remaining three dolphins to animals rights groups.
We the undersigned demand that you respect the lives of your remaining captive dolphins. Don't allow loud, headbanging music anywhere near them! Don't let Shadow have died in vain. Set an example of responsible animal stewardship for marine parks around the world! If you can not, please relinquish your surviving dolphins into the care of those who will ensure their safety and welfare.
