Electoral College Abolishment

For the last 225 years, the United States President has been determined by the Electoral College. This system, which was created in 1787 at the Constitutional Convention, was made to provide equality within the states when determining voting powers between small and large populous states. Unfortunately, the system our forefathers created has not worked as though they had planned. The Electoral College is something that is seen as helping the “little guy” in presidential elections, giving everyone an equal vote. Though when you actually look at it, it’s not actually helping anyone and has undefined democracy in elections in the past. Together we can work toward a more genuine democratic government by abolishing the Electoral College.
