Fracking is NOT a safe process.

The end-product of hydrofracking is always toxic waste and a great deal of it. It also has polluted wells nearby, making citizens ill, and has been implicated in earthquake activity. Whole ponds near fracking have had all life in them die and explosions at rigs have killed people. It takes a tremendous amount of fresh water to frack a well- water which can never again be used for drinking or cooking or bathing. The air quality around the compressor plants is very bad. The benefits of the small amount of gas extracted (much less than original estimates) and the jobs provided (many less than original estimates) by no means make up for the risk to our aquifers and the poisoning of air and water. We want fracking stopped and renewable resources supported.
