Free Dolphins from Captivities Abusive Hands

The dolphins of Discovery Cove are crying out for help.  Is anyone
listening?
There is a sad truth behind the dolphins smile.  Richard O'Barry
(the former trainer of flipper, now dolphin activist) says, "The dolphin's smile is nature's biggest deception."  The truth is these dolphins are not happy.  They live day in and day out in a sea of turmoil, abuse and neglect.  This sea is known as Discovery Cove.
On the surface Discovery Cove looks like a dream come true.  Underneath the surface lies a horrifying truth involving abuse and neglect at the very least.  The course of events these beautiful bottle nose dolphins endure are heartless and inconceivable.
The dolphin to the left is Scarlet.  She and two other dolphins lived in an aquarium the size of a large pool, were over worked, and forced to perform dangerous stunts like double aerials.  But the worst being they didn't receive medical attention when it was desperately needed.  All three dolphins are dead because of abuse and neglect.  Scarlet's death is the one that I found most upsetting and left me feeling enraged with everyone at Discovery Cove.  Scarlet was pregnant.  When her uterus ruptured and her calf was floating around in her body nobody at Discovery Cove cared.  A vet was never called for Scarlet.  The end result was death
resulting from their abuse and neglect.  For the whole story visit  http://peta.org , then go tohttp://blog.peta.org/archives/2009/07/seaworlds  lack.php or http://www.peta.org/mc/factsheet display.asp?ID=63.   If that doesn't bring tears to your eyes, the gut wrenching way they obtained these dolphins will.  The way these dolphins are captured and sold is heartless, unhumane, without morals, and brutal.  Approximately 20,000 dolphins are being slaughtered annually in Taiji, Japan.  They can capture hundreds at a time.  Only two or three are kept alive to sell to these parks.  They can get up to $150,000 for a dolphin.  The rest of the dolphins are slaughtered brutally with spears in a secret cove.  They slaughter so many the water turns red in the cove as you hear them crying out for help as they die.  Irecommend seeing the documentary, "The Cove".  Watching this doumentary is an eyeopening , life altering experience.  It depicts exactly how evil the secret business of buying and selling dolphins can be.  Until recently the Japanese people had no idea this was happening in Taiji.
After hearing of Scarlet's tramatizing existance at Discovery Cove I decided to start The Scarlet Dolphin Foundation in her memory.  I have decided to dedicate the rest of my life to shuting down these "abusement parks" and returning the dolphins back to the wild where they should of never been taken from in the first place.  Please find it in your heart to sign this petition so dolphins can be freed from captivity and live the life they were meant to have.  If you're interested in doing more to help the dolphins visit http://www.savejapandolphins.org or http://www.dolphinproject.org.
