KFC suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can%u2019t even walk, and often break their wings and legs. At slaughter, the birds%u2019 throats are slit and they are dropped into tanks of scalding-hot water%u2014often while they are still conscious. It would be illegal for KFC to abuse dogs, cats, pigs, or cows in these ways.
KFC%u2019s own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses, but KFC refuses to do so. Many advisors have now resigned in frustration.
We the undersigned believe the animals used for your products are being mistreated, and would like to see that you are making an effort to improve the conditions of the aforementioned animals. It has been brought to our attention that even some of your own animal welfare advisors have asked that you take steps to make improvements, but you refused to do so. And as a result, they resigned. We would just like to point out that it may be easier to take steps and improve the conditions of these animals, than it is to constantly have to look for new advisors. If the steps are taken, and made publicly known that they are being taken, we believe the reputation of your business may improve as well.
