Pet Ownership is literally 'Costing The Earth' these days.Millions of tonnes of carbon emissions generated by the World's pet industry are a major contributing factor to the loss of the planet's indigenous species. The pet industry is literally driving many of the world's wildlife into extinction.The manufacture of food and accessories as well as provision of pet healthcare and other services targeted at pet owners, added to the huge distribution network for pet food and products is producing devastating effects on our planet.We want all members of the pet industry, from huge multi-nationals, pet superstores, and veterinary practices, to the humble village pet shop, dog walker and grooming parlour, to become carbon neutral by 2012.To help them we have set up a carbon offset account into which anyone can deposit funds to offset their carbon emissions. "Pet Ownership Shouldn't Cost The Earth"We the undersigned would like you to take a moment to consider the impact of your carbon emissions on the planet's wildlife and to commit to making your company or organisation carbon neutral by 2012.Feeding, clothing and caring for our pets should not be at the expense of other living creatures on this planet.The pet industry world wide is worth billion of dollars, and all involved in it, from the huge multi-national food producer, pet superstore and veterinary practice to the humble village pet shop, dog walker and grooming parlour, has a part to play in saving our wildlife by reducing their carbon output.Your carbon emissions can be reduced dramatically, and the rest can be offset, thereby making your business carbon neutral.We would ask you to work towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2012.The Pets Naturally Foundation can help you do that and will present you with the 'Cool Award' when you achieve it just to show the world that you did it.Pet owners like ourselves will be looking out for the 'Cool Award' on the products and services we buy, so please take up the challenge now.Please take time to review your carbon emissions levels and ask for help in reducing and offsetting these as soon as possible.The sooner you act the fewer wild species will be lost.We know you are not alone. Other industries generate carbon emissions. But the world wide pet industry is massive, and we believe can, and should make a huge contribution to caring for our planet's wildlife.
