Scandal at Fatima Shrine (Portugal)
Dogs found near Fatima Shrine, either adults or puppies, either strays or not, are captured by guards and placed in the cage present in the photo. This because of an order of the Rector. There are dogs kept for weeks in the cold and the rain of winter, or under the hot sun in summer without food or water. Some guards are really kind to dogs, feed them and work to rehome them, but we learnt of two vicious guards who raped those poor unlucky creatures. Some workers killed many dogs, most probably because they "disturb" tourists, those religious tourists who go to the Shrine to pray God and don't know what happens behind the Shrine.
We ask the Rector to repeal that order immediately, to investigate on the massacre and the horrific crimes that took place in Fatima, and punish the culprits.
We the undersigned respectfully ask you Padre Virgilio to repeal your order to capture Dogs near the Shrine, to punish severely the criminals who raped, abused and killed those Dogs, and to become a true man of God: Dogs are God's creatures, nobody has rights on them. God gave us the opportunity to share our lives with sweet, harmless, gentle living and sentient beings, we can only thank Him for this gift and take good care of animals. S. Francesco taught us the way: Animals are our siblings. Where is your Christian Mercy Padre Virgilio? How can you pray God and kill His creatures?
