My sister and I payed a visit to the Brian Boswell's circus in Centurion (opposite the Centurion mall), to check out the condition of the animals. We were appalled at finding tigers confined separately in overly small cages, unable to give one step in either direction. Having to travel long distances in those hot cages with no possibility of exercising freely, is completely against their nature. It was heartbreaking watching them staring out helplessly at the outside world. We noticed two elephants standing in the hot sun in the veld with no water to drink or spray themselves with. All of these magnificent animals need refuge in a sanctuary! After explaining this to one of the employees, he stated that they make their living from these animals and that they "are shot and killed in the wild anyway". We tried to explain to them that wild animals belong in the wild or in a sanctuary. One of them screamed at us to f..k off.
