Whereas, the Wounded Knee Massacre Site upon 1851 Treaty of Fort Laramie Lakota Homelands, now referred to as the %u201CPine Ridge Indian Reservation%u201D, where 453 unarmed, innocent, Lakota women, children, infants, unborn, and men were brutally slaughtered and mutilated by the u.s. government and their army on December 29, 1890, is a %u201CMost Sacred Site%u201D, and
Whereas, keeping in line with ancient Lakota Way Of Life, such Most Sacred Site must forever be preserved in its most natural and pristine condition so as to honor Lakota ancestors who did not believe in:
1) Disrupting, bulldozing, blowing-up, or altering our sacred Unci Maka (Grand Mother Earth), such as the desecration for profit that is continuing in the heart of 1851 Treaty Homelands, the sacred He Sapa %u201CBlack Hills%u201D at the debacle known as %u201CCrazy Horse mountain%u201D (Tasunke Witko fought and gave his life fighting such greed and %u201Cwasin icu na progress.%u201D
2) Exploiting lands for profit for u.s. government and/or their agents, such as their 1934 Act-established %u201Ctribal councils%u201D, and/or other corporations/entities
Therefore be it resolved that the attempted %u201Cbidding%u201D for destruction (misnomer %u201Cconstruction%u201D) at the Most Sacred Wounded Knee Massacre Site, by the so-called %u201COglala sioux parks and recreation authority OSPRA%u201D and other u.s. government entities be immediately suspended and no further attempted violation of the 1851 Treaty and violation and disrespect of the basic Lakota Way Of Life and teachings be attempted by the u.s. government and their agencies/tribal councils, and
Be it finally resolved, that the Lakota Oyate urges all non-Indigenous to write their congressmen and senators and urge them to deny funds to their tribal councils with regard to this project or other such anti-nature and un-Lakota ideas and projects.
