Tell our governments we expect safe products.

Today, we are fed pesticides, trans-fats, refined sugars, monosodium glutamate, and food and drink often come in plastics that leach into those foods. In fact, corporations can claim their product has no trans fat, when in fact it does. Additionally there has been lead in childrens toys, and babys' bottles have had toxic plastics. I have written to my Representative many times, that the legislation regulating the food industry's ability to put ingredients or contaminants on our food is not enough. My Rep. has not replied. There is much more threatening our health and safety than this, but if we can't be sure that the food we buy at the grocery store isn't safe or our childrens toys and baby bottles, how can we trust anything.
It is the duty of each of your offices to uphold the health and safety of the people of your nations. The people must no longer stand by while you all allow, without stringent regulations, the contamination of our food with pesticides and unhealthy additives. Even our water is poisoned. The rates of heart disease and cancer have risen and this is one of the causes. You have allowed China and other countries to produce toys with lead, and the U.S. allowed those to hit the market.
If you care about you people as you say you do, you must:
1. Stop industrial agriculture, including all use of artificial pesticides and fertilizers.
2. Ban any hazardous material from being used on any level in products that will be used by children and infants, and when hazardous materials are used a clear warning must be present.
3. Regulate industry so that no toxins are put into the air or the water.
