You stand in front of your full length mirror molding your body into the shape you wish it to be. You can't believe the sight of the whale looking back at you. It sickens you but yet you stand their tears running down your face. Your stomach feels hallow and is paining you. You haven't eaten anything for five days. You plan on only have a stick of celery today for a meal hoping it doesn't trigger a binge. Your plan for the day is to spend six hours exercising hoping to burn as many calories as possible. You plan on overdosing on diet pills and weighing yourself four times today hoping to see a little change at the least. You are tired and weak but yet you will continue to try and commit the slow and painful suicide. You have fallen into the obsession of wanting to be skinny.
You are beautiful. You are wonderful. No matter your size you are beautiful in your own way. But do you believe it?
5 million girls suffer from eating disorders. 80% of woman hate their bodies. Why? Because the media is telling us lies. And we are believing them.
The media is telling us that we are not beautiful unless we are tall and skinny twigs. That's the only size of their models. And even than you still aren't beautiful because you don't have the perfect face or hair that the models have. But actually their whole looks are touched up by computers. They are fakes. Barbies. They are telling lies to us. 1 out of 5 people who suffer from eating disorders die. It is a sad thing and is all because of what we are being told. On diet commercials they show a woman who was an average size and turned her into a twig. They said that her normal size was too fat and she had to be skinnier. She had to be a twig. But really, that woman on the screen weighed no more than an average person.
We need to stop these lies. So our world can be happier and our children can grow up loving themselves and not judging others by how they look. People need to know they are all beautiful. Ever looked at the crowd and thought of how pretty everyone was? Well more than half of those people don't like how they look. And if you found that out than you would be shocked. Because you thought they were so beautiful. How could the not believe it? Well, most likely some other woman is looking around the crowd and at you thinking you are beautiful and wishing to be like you. And she too would be shocked when you say you don't like how you look.

We the undersigned believe that your magazine should have models of all sizes. You are telling woman that you have to be a twig to be beautiful. Because of your magazine millions of girls suffer from eating disorders and most woman hate their bodies. You are telling lies and are supporting slow and painful suicides of trying to be skinny. We are concerned for our families and friends and everyone in the world. We are concerned for our children and wives and anyone who has troubles with accepting how they look. We are asking politely for models of all sizes. We believe this is right and are hoping you will consider our thoughts and views. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
