Term Limits & Lower Wages for Politicians

Congressman's job description (as written in "Common Sense" by Glenn Beck Chapter 4 Page 46 copyrighted 2009) :

"Be your own boss. Performance reviews conducted but then immediately shredded! Make mistakes and assign the blame to other people with no consequences. Hefty six-figure salaried position with annual increases automatically granted without regard to work performance. Medical benefits are top of the line and are publicly subsidized. Pension plan is extremely generous and has a very short vesting period. Work onsite 118-184 days a year and then work for home...or not! Travel the world and attend elaborate cocktail parties, all for free. Regularly meet people who think you're personally revolting and professionally inept but are forced to call you "sir" or "madam" out of sheer fear."

This is a blunt and accurate description of the typical life style of our government system. You are over paid and out of touch with the people in which you represent. Why is it that you are more than willing to make cuts in education but most of your children attend private school? Why are you trying to pass socialized healthcare when it won't even apply to you? You sign bills you don't read. You steal public tax money for personal projects in earmarks. You use gerrymandering to ensure a seat. Many of you have been accused of tax fraud and other major crimes, yet none of you have been given the consequences any other American would recieve...prison.

This corruption has got to end. You are American citizens too, therefore you are subject to the same laws the rest of us are. If you break them you will receive the same punishments. Terms limits need to be placed upon every governmental position, not just the Presidency. Your political careers should not be life long endeavors. The longer in office, the more comfortable you become. You should never be comfortable. You should always fear the people.

No more 6 figure salaries. As mentioned above most governmental political positions qualify for only part time work hours. There is plenty of time in your schedules to manage another position. The average American family makes $45,000 per year. Are you better than we? No. If nothing else the wages of the public servants should not exceed that of 5 digit salaries. Less money coupled with less power in term limits might make the jobs a little less enticing for the corrupt and powerhungry of you. And perhaps the real patriots will step up and realize the genuine duty serving  your country should be.
