Myanmar is on the edge of a state collapse nearly 11 months after the political crisis. Violence and insecurity have followed the coup, while the country suffers significantly from COVID-19 and a significant economic crisis. Furthermore, according to the World Bank, the coup crisis and the pandemic severely impacted an economy that expected almost half the population into poverty in 2022. The United Nations emergency relief coordinator said that million people across Myanmar need life-saving humanitarian assistance because of rising conflict and insecurity, the pandemic, and a failing economy that affected businesses and their daily income, leading to more poverty day by day.
