Justice For Rape Victims

a young woman in Lower Manhattan found herself victim of the kind of terrifying crime that now seems almost to belong to another era in New York. Early on Monday in Chinatown, the police said, three teenage boys attacked a woman they had just met at an Internet cafe. Investigators said two raped and robbed her before the group headed to her apartment with the keys they had stolen from her. Video from surveillance cameras at the cafe and at a deli where she later sought help, which ultimately led to arrests, showed her battered and bloodied. Women are being failed by the criminal justice system, and left with nowhere to turn for support. We need your help to make a difference. Money must be invested in support services without delay, so that every area has a fully-funded rape crisis centre, while the Government must take immediate steps to ensure that real improvements are made in criminal justice practice, so that every case is properly investigated.
