End Goldfish Slaughter!

For decades carnivals across the nation have been dishing out small goldfish in the equivalent of Tupperware containers and calling them "prizes." Most fish won't survive a week after leaving the fair, and the common person won't even realize how much pain their scaly companion is going through before it finally happens.

Goldfish take a lot more work than just throwing a couple of flakes in their tank and calling it good, and many develop diseases, suffer from stunting, or die of straight suffocation.

My first fish which just so came from the fair (before I really knew anything about fish), was given to me with severe ammonia burns all over his body. And while I was determined to heal him and keep him alive, most people who come home with a fair fish won't give it any second thought. I am deeply appalled that our government still allows this to happen and I say it's time we put an end to the sufferings of fair fish.

(Pictured: My own fair fish when I first recieved him. Notice the black ammonia burns covering his body. I have had him for about 2 years now, and he has made a full recovery.)
