Return the Receptionist's Desk to the Main Lobby.

In order to promote better consumer service, to prevent HIPPA violations, and to decrease interruptions for the nurses at the front station, the receptionist desk should be returned to the main front lobby of the Comprehensive Care Center.

•  At this time the receptionists desk is located in an overlooked office to the right of the main entrance.

• Despite signs showing the location, visitors see the front nurses station  first, walk up to it, and wait to be helped. 

• While standing there:

• Visitors may not be greetedand/or helped in a timely manner causing them to form a bad first impression.

• Visitors may over hear private patient information while a nurse is on the phone with a doctor.

• Nurses who are in the middle of dispensing medications at the med carts or who are sitting down to chart or noting doctor's orders, or in the middle of giving report to the next shift, have to stop what they are doing and help visitors with their questions. This can lead to med errors.
