The House of Representatives has finally passed the monumental Build Back Better Act — and now it's onto the Senate. Corporate Democrats Joe Manchin and Senator Kyrsten Sinema have been relentlessly fighting President Biden's widely popular social investment bill, and the legislation could face even more cuts if they don't get on board.
The two have also managed to force out the progressive goals that would have provided two years of free community college and allowed Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices. We can't negotiate away any other wins for working families.

Manchin, in the pocket of the coal and fossil fuel industries, has worked against the climate provisions. Sinema has been influenced by pharmaceutical companies. Both of them have even gone to bat for billionaires, opposing taxes on the wealthy and corporations that would initiate incredible change for their constituents.
Our elected officials need to prove that they care about fostering a new era of growth for Americans, not about further lining the pockets of billionaires.
