Demand Yellowstone Grizzly Cubs be sent to Rehab, not Zoo

On August 13th Yellowstone National Park compounded a human tragedy by killing the grizzly bear sow who attacked and killed an off trail, solo hiker who failed to carry bear spray in order to defend her cubs (As Superintendent Wenk admitted to NBC news).

More troubling is the fact Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter offered to rehabilitate and rerelease both of Blaze's two cubs, but Yellowstone never got in touch with Northern Lights, instead announcing on Friday, August 15th permanent placement in the Toledo Zoo. Moreover, Yellowstone failed twice in 2011, and again now, to introduce simple policies, such as mandatory bear spray that could have saved both human and bear lives.

Please sign and share the message with everyone you know and demand Yellowstone and the Park Service rehabilitate and rerelease the bear, believed to be Blaze's final two cubs. The only option that makes rational sense.

We ask you to please reconsider sending Blaze's two orphaned grizzly cubs to a zoo. They have been traumatized enough with the killing of their mother, held in captivity and scared to death. They deserve a decent life. Not condemned to to a life of  imprisonment. These innocent babies belong in a rehabilitation center and released back into the wild where they belong. If for some reason, they can't be rehabed, they should go to a reputable sanctuary. Concerned citizens have at least 3 locations already lined up. All you have to do is agree to give them a chance.
