Demand our streets be repaired, Now!

Several streets in the Kenwood Heights neighborhood were "pulverized" in early June after school was out. Our understanding was that the street / gas lines / water lines, etc. were to be fixed in a timely manner.

We have had to live with "country road" type streets since that time. After the pavement was "pulverized" we have had to contend with dirt, dust, and rocks. Many residents have health issues which are made worse by the dust. Some residents have had to replace car windshields, some at their own cost, due to rocks being thrown up from the streets.

We have been told by the Bryan Heck, the City Manager, in a letter dated August 5, 2019 that there was a miscommunication between the City Engineering Department and Columbia Gas. Columbia Gas says the gas lines are "too shallow" and must be replaced before the streets can be paved. The City has now put off our street repairs until 2020 and says that Columbia Gas is responsible for repaving until the 2020 street projects begin.

We are taxpayers, property taxes and/or income tax. We demand for our streets to be repaved immediately! We refuse to continue to live under these conditions any longer!
