NO NEW JAIL IN JENNINGS COUNTY

Jennings County is proposing spending over $28 million dollars on a new jail at the tax payers expense. The current jail is only 18 years old and could be added on to and updated for a small portion of the proposed cost of the new jail, but current County Jail Committee will not entertain any outside ideas and have not explored all options. This petition is to stop any current jail building plans, land purchases, and approval of increase in taxes until the County Jail Committee conducts a root cause analysis and research alternative solutions.
