Shark Finning Petition
Shark finning has become a problem to our oceans and to the sea life inside of it. First of all, the sharks are harmed, obviously. People drop shark nets in the water hoping to catch the sharks. When they do, they pull up the shark, take a rusty machete and saw off their fins. The people that do this want to get great white sharks most of all because of their great size and weight. Not many people know that Great White sharks have very high levels of magnesium in their blood stream. After they are finned, the sharks, still alive, are dropped into the water. Their Dorsal fin had been cut off which they need to swim the the right direction. They wouldn't be able to swim and would sink to the bottom suffocating them selves. Shark need to swim to breath, if they can't swim, the water would not filter through their gills and therefor unableng them to breath.
Other animals also get caught in the shark nets. Animals like Turtles, seals, fish, and dolphins. If the people don't stop finning sharks, all sharks would disappear from the face of the earth. Fish would over populate the oceans, causing them all to die of over population then all that's left in the ocean would be algae and water. Can you imagine a world without colorful coral reefs and tropical fish swimming around? I know I can't. Please sign this petition to stop the finning of sharks.
