Stop the Franklin Co. IN Animal Shelter from becoming a Slaughterhouse!

Change is on the wind for companion animals in Franklin County Indiana...and it's not good.  Commissioner Scott McDonough is taking this shelter back to "a bullet is cheaper" mentality.  Louis Fasbinder, small animal control officer of 17 years was fired today and replaced by his assistant Steve Monroe.   Along with firing a dedicated and compassionate man, Commissioner McDonough issued a deadline for rescues to remove what animals they could before access is denied.  That's right...no longer working with the rescues that saved so many dogs at NO cost to them.  Then issued a notice that Volunteer Night tonight was cancelled and volunteers were no longer needed.  Yep, volunteers and school children who would go to the shelter and groom, walk, clean kennels, feed animals and socialize dogs and puppies are no longer welcome at the "new" Franklin County Animal Shelter.

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO PREVENT THIS SHELTER FROM BECOMING A SLAUGHTERHOUSE!  Without Franklin County intends to collect animals and dispose of them without ever having a real chance at adoption.  There is no excuse for a shelter with this much rescue and volunteer support to return to the days of shooting animals, unless they just enjoy killing animals!
