Watershed Forest Alliance Petition

We the undersigned, call on the Province of British Columbia, to block the logging by Island Timberlands of McLaughlin Ridge in the Alberni Valley,

 thus save the rare ancient Douglas Fir high elevation forest ecosystem and limiting the risk to the watershed of Port Alberni.

And further, recognizing the legal obligation of local municipalities and districts to provide potable water but without any control over their watersheds,

the undersigned call upon the Province of British Columbia to create a fund to assist communities in acquiring control over their watersheds.
