Bring back our Vale Head Park

Vale Head Park, once a thriving, beautiful and cheerful place, is being left to ruin. The community of Vale Head Park are sickened each day to see their childhood memories deminish day by day. On my recent visit to Vale Head Park I was in disbelief -- how could the council let such a place go like that? Everything is overgrown, broken and abandoned. Why is it being neglected like this? Why is there no funding to employ caretakers to keep up this once wonderful place?

The surrounding areas have been paying council tax, which has never gone down, to keep this place up, so why are we being failed in this? Our council tax should be spent on our community and the people of Hemsworth and surrounding areas are not seeing that! Not only vale head park is overgrown and neglected, all around the communities we have overgrown grass banks, withered flower beds you can REALLY tell there has been a lack of care... its just not the same anymore and we dont see where our council tax is going.

Too much time and budget is being spent elsewhere, like on Wakefield for e.g, more concerned about a new shopping mall than keeping what is real... alive. Vale Head Park is like the heart of our community, lots and lots of happy years and memories becoming just that... a memory, and its sad. We know what we pay in council tax should cover a budget for the upkeep of our community, so why isnt it?

This really does need looking at and seriously aswell, the community looks neglected and Vale Head Park is left in ruin. This place could again thrive given the right push but that push can only begin with the council's support and proper funding, not relying on volunteer groups. Full time jobs are required to keep up that park and our community is paying the taxes required. I dont remember council tax going down, so why is the budget being cut beyond what is needed?

All we ask is for this wonderful place to be brought back to its former glory, we don't care how many shops you can build in a new shopping mall, we care about our community, just like you should do.
