Ban ritual slaughter in the UK

Ritual slaughter is inhumane and aborrently cruel. The animals suffer tremendous pain and fear without being first stunned prior to death. The vast majority of the British public do not accept this practice and strongly object to eating meat killed by this means.The animal cruelty laws in this country state that you must not cause "unnecessary suffering" yet this is exactly what religious slaughter does as the animals take far longer to die and are fully aware of all that is going on around them. The strict animal welfare laws in the UK are to be applauded and upheld by ALL those who choose to inhabit this country and there should be no exceptions.
