This Fishing Method Is Wiping Out Entire Ecosystems on the Ocean Floor

For more than a century, bottom trawling has dragged massive weighted nets across the ocean floor — scraping entire ecosystems and hauling up everything in their path.

A new global study has revealed the true scale of this destruction: more than 3,000 species have already been recorded in trawl catches, and the real number could be far higher.

Even more alarming, around 95% of the species caught are not the intended target.

Sign the petition to demand an immediate ban on bottom trawling before more species are pushed toward extinction.

Entire branches of marine life are being wiped out, often without scientists even knowing what's being lost.

Thousands of species are being pulled from the ocean, including endangered sharks, seahorses, and other vulnerable marine life. Many are discarded. Many are never even recorded, and many may not survive.

This doesn't have to happen, and it's not sustainable. This is mass destruction happening beneath the surface of the ocean.

Sign the petition now to urge a ban on bottom trawling and protect ocean ecosystems from further devastation.
