Boy Scouts, Don't Ban Lesbian Moms!

Jennifer Tyrrell was removed as a Cub Scouts den mother with the Boy Scouts of America because she is a lesbian.

After registering her son for Cub Scouts, she was a dedicated den mother for her son's Scout chapter for a year. During that time, her cubs took part in many volunteer activities including working on a conservation project for a state park and volunteering at the soup kitchen, and earned many Scout badges.

After becoming the treasurer of her pack and reporting findings to the council, she was told her membership had been revoked because of her sexual orientation, which made it impossible for her to meet the "high standards of membership". The Boy Scouts of America said that they do not grant membership to "open or avow homosexuals".

Please tell the Boy Scouts of America to change their discriminatory policy and allow LGBT individuals to serve as troop den leaders!

Boy Scouts of America, please change the policy that prohibits LGBT individuals from serving as troop den leaders.

Jennifer Tyrrell, after signing her son up for Cub Scouts, was a dedicated den mother for a year. She led her son's chapter through many wonderful volunteer activities and helped them earn many Scout badges. Despite all of this, she was removed because of her sexual orientation.

This is discrimination and this is wrong.
