The integrity of the ballot box is the backbone of democratic government. There are increasingly credible and demonstrated reports of how our fundamental right as citizens is being undermined by hundreds of thousands of non-citizens who are being enticed, encouraged, and enabled to register illegally and vote. Many states have attempted to purge voter registration lists to remove deceased individuals, felons, non-citizens, or individuals who have moved away and are registered elsewhere. Attempts to do so have been thwarted. For what reason? To keep lists intentionally fluid and squishy for those with an ulterior motive? What about attempts to require photo IDs for voting? Why is such a simple procedure, required for so many functions in society, so vigorously battled by some politicians? In recent elections, some close races have been decided by as few as 500 or less votes. In our nation, every vote is important and even a single vote can be the difference in an election and major legislation. As responsible citizens we need to take a stand to restore the integrity of the ballot.
