If you've never had a pit bull, or know nothing about pit bulls other than what the media tells you, you'd probably think they were vicious beasts who don't deserve a home or even love. That's what people said about the Vick pit bulls, but look at how many of them have been rehabilitated and turned into loving dogs. One of them is even a therapy dog. Also, out of all the dogs, only two had to be put down. One because of injuries, and the other because it was too unruly.
Any dog can be dangerous if you treat them badly or don't train them well. Even a golden retriever or a toy poodle can be dangerous in the wrong hands. Don't blame the dog, blame the owner for being a bad person. Treat a dog with love and patience and train them well, and you have a valued companion for life.
It's not fair that certain breeds of dog be labled as dangerous. The dogs can't tell their side of the story, so how do we know if they're really dangerous or not?
