The owners of the building have decided to discontinue our in-home internet package. In their letter, their reasoning states: "This change will provide greater flexibility for each home to select a package based on your unique needs and will provide future access to top of the line internet speeds using the Fiber upgrades." However, this is just a thinly veiled excuse for stripping away one of our most utilized amenities.
Having internet included is a key selling point drawing people to want to live in our community as much as any of the other included amenities. Would it be acceptable or appropriate for management to start charging for use of other amenities such as the fitness center after residents are led to believe that this was included as part of the rent?
If we cannot preserve in-home internet, management should at least offer us a discount on our agreed upon rent due to this newly added expense which was historically covered by the building.
