The small monkeys, called cotton-top tamarins, weigh less than a pound, and need temperatures of 76 to 85 degrees. Overnight temperatures in Louisiana were in the teens when the monkeys were left outside.
A third monkey survived the exposure, and is now forced to cope in captivity without its two companions. It was lucky to survive this time, but what if another zookeeper makes the same mistake?
